ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLING

404 Maury St. S

Wilson, NC, 27893

Aluminum Can Recycling at Wilson Metal Recycling

DID YOU KNOW...
- 65.1% of aluminum cans produced in 2011 were recycled- that's about 61 BILLION cans!
- Recycling Aluminum uses less than 10% of the energy needed to make new Aluminum!
- Customers get 3 cents more every Wednesday when they recycle Aluminum Cans at Wilson Metal Recycling!

Two ways to know aluminum cans from steel cans.

Surprisingly enough, not all beverage cans are made of aluminum. Oftentimes people bring in bag-fulls of cans, in which half of them are made of steel. The fastest way to tell if a can is aluminum or steel is by taking a refrigerator magnet to it. If the magnet clings onto the can, the can is steel! NOTE: We love to buy steel cans too! Just bring them to the next room and we will buy them!
The other way to tell the difference is by squeezing the can. If it easily starts to crush within your grip, then the can is almost certainly made of aluminum. Try crushing a soup can that way, for instance. Chances are that without superhuman grip, a soup can won't crush so easily. And by the way, soup cans are steel—and as said we buy them too! Just head over to a scale operator after you drop off those aluminum cans, and get paid for both types of cans. Got a piece of heavy machinery to bring in? Hey. Get paid for that, too!

Metal Upgrading! Scrap Your Metal Recycling for More Cash At Wilson Metal Recycling! 404 Maury St. S, Wilson, NC, 27893, 252-243-3586

  Wilson metal RECYCLING
WANTS YOU TO MAKE MORE MONEY
WHEN YOU RECYCLE SCRAP METAL!

Wilson Metal Recycling buys scrap in all shapes and sizes- but, in truth, we pay different amounts depending on the condition of the metal.

Recycling Scrap Metal is a great way to make some fast cash, especially if you separate, sort, and strip your items before you scrap the metal.
Separating METAL WIRES from appliances, making different piles for different types of metals, and stripping the plastic coatings off of metals are some easy ways to ensure you’re getting the MOST MONEY FOR YOUR SCRAP METAL.
Wilson Metal Recycling is a North Carolina Scrap Yard that purchases metal and processes it to be resold as the raw materials for metal manufacturing companies. If you sell us items that are a combination of materials we will mostly purchase it as the grade called “shred.” If you have appliances that you would like to recycle, you will get more if you cut off the wires, remove the batteries, and break the item down into as many individual types of metal as possible. When you separate the materials inside your appliances, we can purchase the metals at their individual prices (which is always more than we pay for shred).
It’s also important to make sure your metals are separated into groups that can be easily moved. If you sell us a tangled pile of wires, we have to purchase all of the wire as shred- even if some of the wire is much more valuable. If we cannot separate types of metals, they are called “dirty” and they must be purchases at a lower rate.

Lastly, when possible (and safe), we recommend you strip any plastic coating off of your scrap metal and wires. The picture below shows some Aluminum Scrap Metal. To be exact, they areAluminum Fenders with a plastic coating on them. If we purchase the Aluminum Fenders in the state shown below, you would receive less money than if you took the couple of seconds to remove the plastic coating layer. Removing plastic coating is the easiest way to get MORE MONEY FOR YOUR SCRAP METAL!

Metal Commodities and Recycling Report, Raleigh Scrap Metal Recycling, 2310 Garner Rd, Raleigh, NC, 27610, 919-828-5426

RALEIGH METAL RECYCLING
METAL COMMODITIES AND RECYCLING REPORT
2310 GARNER ROAD
RALEIGH, NC 27610

This is the Commodities and Recycling report, brought to you by BENLEE the industry leader in roll off trailers and open top scrap trailers, as well as Raleigh, Goldsboro Metal Recycling, the leaders in North Carolina for Scrap Metal, Cardboard, Electronics and Junk Cars.

Today is Monday August 10th, 2015.  My name is Greg Brown, President and CEO of the companies.

Sadly the story remains the same. There is mostly bad news in the commodities and recycling markets, with only limited positives.

Steel Production

While steel production in the U.S. remains on its slow upward trend, production is well below the level of the last two years.
Oil Rig Count
Two of the things that are helping steel production is that the oil rig count is up slightly, despite falling oil prices and car production is strong.

Steel Prices

With the U.S. dollar remaining strong, the story has not changed in that metal prices remain low.  When the attached chart is updated next week, it will show a drop of about $30/GT, making it the lowest price in over 6 years.

Related, the utilization rate at steel mills in the U.S. is now about 74%, yet it was 79% a year ago.  The flood of scrap metal into the U.S. from Europe, the manufacturing of low cost DRI, along with low steel production, remain the key reasons steel prices continue to fall.

Copper

Copper hit an important milestone last week.  Copper’s all time high was $4.66 a pound in April 2011.  Last week, it went below $2.33, meaning it is now trading at less than half its high of 2011.  Most believe that copper could go as low as $2.10 or lower, before is stabilizes.

Aluminum

Aluminum also hit a 6 plus year low in the past week.  The slow economy and over production of aluminum in China, is a key factor in low aluminum prices.

The U.S. economy continues its slow improvement.  There was a good jobs report last week that had over 200,000 jobs created in July.  Car and truck sales may hit the highest level since 2001 and the oil price decline will help spending around the world, but none of it is enough to help commodity prices.

On a bad note, Federal Charges were brought against a major recycler in North Carolina this past week, due to banking issues.  We are aware of yet another North Carolina recycler that is also currently involved with at least one lawsuit that could lead to charges as well.  Recycling is an important industry and markets are worse than bad, but all laws must be respected and followed.  Integrity is key to all we do.

For current prices, please call us at 919-828-5426 in Raleigh, 919-731-5600 in Goldsboro.

With that we hope all have a Safe and Profitable week.  Tune in next week for the Commodity and Recycling report.

NC Current Scrap Metal Prices at Wilson Metal Recycling-Call 252-243-3586, Copper, Aluminum

NC Scrap Metal Prices in Wilson

Scrap Metal Prices are now the lowest that have been since 2009.  Copper which  hit a high of $4.66 on COMEX dropped to $2.31 this week, less than half of what it was.

Steel, Cars and Appliances are about a less than a third of what they were.

There is not an easy answer.  At Wilson Metal Recycling we do our best to pay you the most per pound for your Scrap Metal, Copper, Aluminum, Computers, Old Appliances and more, but the amount we get is now at multi year lows.

The U.S. economy is not what we want it to be, but it is OK.  North Carolina's economy is better than most states.  The problem is China uses more than half the world's metal and their economy has slowed down significantly.  If they are not using a lot of metal, prices come down.

We are not just the average junk yard or salvage yard.  We remain a full service Wilson Recycling Center right here in Wilson County.  We are the Convenience Center that pays you cash for your metal trash when you recycle, even your old aluminum cans.
